"Dear Dennis,

"After a year of living with ongoing pain from plantar fasciitis, I decided to search on the internet one last time to try to find a solution to my foot pain because my ortho-inserts were not helping at all. I came across your book, downloaded it, and after reading it I tried the exercises right away. I was very afraid the exercises would be painful as my feet were already sensitive ... but I felt no pain in doing the exercises. Even more surprising, the very next day I was curious to see if I could go through the day without my orthodic inserts, and use your techniques for walking. I made it through the day with no pain. I still can't believe it, but in one day I was able walk normally using your techniques, without pain. I am so happy to get rid of those uncomfortable, confining ortho-inserts.

"I would have never imagined that the solution to my pain would have been so simple, and truly cannot thank you enough. I feel like I have my life back.

"Thank you for sharing this very informative data." -T.F.

"Hi Dennis,

"Yes, you may share my story with others. Maybe it can offer some hope to those who, like me, had almost given up in finding any solution for their pain. I'm only 41 years old, always led an active life, and thought my hiking days were over when the plantar fasciitis came on. The data in your book gave me my life back. Thank you once again." -T.F.

"I was having terrible trouble with shin splints (I am a dancer). Mr. Denlinger showed me how to use the foot arch muscle and I haven't had any trouble with shin splints since." -T.F.

*****

"I was absolutely captivated by the discoveries of Dennis Denlinger as to the engineering structure of the body. It has explained a number of things I could not understand and given me the corrective actions to other, seemingly 'incurable', muscular disorders.

"I feel this is a great step forward towards the understanding of how our body functions and how to keep it always in good shape." -M.F.

*****

"I used some very basic data from Mr. Denlinger's book which resulted in an almost immediately more comfortable body (in specific situations) and also an understanding of how to maintain and enhance the degree of comfort. Thanks!" -K.F.

*****

"For the first time in my life I know how to walk and have techniques to use to regain my posture and relieve the pain in my back and feet.

"Much thanks goes to Dennis Denlinger for this gift.

"This would be beneficial for everyone to know this valuable data. This data needs to be promoted to everyone.!

"Very special thanks." -R.L.

Pretty bad, huh? This is a whole series of e-mails. The first was on 1/13/01:

"...I'm working on your exercises with a passion. Enclosed is a quick sketch of my left foot.

"The ball doesn't even want to touch the ground. The sketch shows how I put a wedge under the outside of my foot and do the exercises. All the weight is by the little toe....

"I believe, for the first time, I am starting to feel the arch muscle (I think). The muscle is virtually nonexistent. 50 years of nonuse...." -C.W.

Then on 3/16/01:

"Hi Dennis,

"...I thought I'd give you an update. Things are much improved. I can stand on the ball of my toe. I could not even do that before.... Skiing improved as that is a crucial part of skiing, (to put the weight on the ball of your foot)...." -C.W. :)

And then on 3/18/01:

"...Skiers who don't improve no matter what they do or how many lessons they take may want to look at whether or not they can stand on the 'toe' balls of their feet. If they can't - they can't ski either, and your exercises will help....

"I found it by standing in my bare feet (before I found out about you), and trying to push off on the balls of my feet in an outward direction. Couldn't even come close on my left foot - never had control. I know I can't be alone in this and often hear how people never can improve past the intermediate level. It only took me 50 years to find this, and now I'm skiing better than I ever have.

"I hope you can help lots more people....

Thanks so much," -C.W. A much happier, better and safer skier!

"Hello, this book is fantastic. It has helped me a lot.

"After ten years with pain, my diagnose was "compartment symphtom" and I even had surgery for that. The surgery didn´t make it better.

"After reading the book and practised the theories and doing the exercises for three weeks I feel a lot better. The muscles on the front side of the leg was hard and is now much softer. I think that the right diagnose is shin splint." -Lena Olofsson, Sweden

"Dear Dennis,

"Thank you for your excellent book on the correct mechanics of the foot and ways to build the arch. I am seeing benefits already, and the mere awareness of how I should be walking has already helped me to significantly reduce pain . The price of the book has already paid itself over many times." -John Christianson (Book purchased from website 12/27/01; this e-mail message dated 1/5/02.)

Hi Dennis,

Just to let you know that the book arrived safely on Saturday morning. Thank you for your excellent service. I have already read the book the put the exercises into practice. It's absolutely amazing. I would never have thought in a million years that the arch muscle was [there]. As I do the exercises I can feel the muscle working, so hopefully it won't be too long before is strong enough to ease the pain in my foot. I was walking and standing so wrong before!! Once again thank you very much. Keep up the good work.

Hello,
Thanks to you and your wonderful book I'm working PAINFREE again!!! I'm a dog-walker and obviously my flat left arch and dislocated little bones in my foot and messed-up ankle and painful knee were making my job very hard to do...I tried expensive running shoes with lots of arch support and though my feet were more comfortable, my problems continued.

I used to walk the way you recommend, when I was a child. I remember being on my toes a lot and never having problems with my feet. BUT-many years of wearing BIRKENSTOCKS helped to retrain me to put more weight on my heel when walking and I was somehow walking on the outside of my feet as well. There was an area on the inner part of my left heel that was excruciating to the touch and I think I was trying to roll my foot to the outside to avoid walking on the sore spot, which caused at least one of the small bones in the top of my foot to dislocate, causing swelling and a lot of pain. It also caused my ankle to be unstable and gave my foot reduced range of movement. My right knee was also swollen and unstable. I walked like an old lady and had to always be careful af where my feet landed, an uneven surface could be torture. I'm only 39!

I read your book and it's so simple! At first, putting weight on the ball of my foot was very weird and uncomfortable. I could feel things shifting in my left foot, particularly where the dislocated bone was... but it was not nearly as bad as an hour long dogwalk with my sick feet! Things were really moving and I literally could feel it improving DAILY!!!

Today, I think I lost what may have been a bone spur in my left heel! I feel a strange twinge in my heel where there used to be so much pain. I now have no more pain at all!!

I have only one question? Why is this not common knowledge and being taught by physical therapists? I've been to a number of chiropractors, who were all able to fix the dislocated bone and my ankle and knee, but once I went back to walking the same old way, it would just go out again. Every one should know this stuff... how is it that you aren't on health talk shows and fairs etc,....maybe you don't want to do all that..but this info is so vital I just wish you were on Oprah or something to really expose it to a lot of people

Anyway, my thanks to you again! I owe you my career!
Zanna

Dear Zanna,

As to why I'm not on talk shows, that is in the works. First I want to get the book on the back completed and in print as well as get another book (about the overall theory applied to the entire body) from 20 years ago back in print.

If my experience to date holds up, it will be difficult to get physical therapists and doctors to recommend it. One reason is I am not of the old school with the union card as I have an engineering background, not medical. Also, doctors do not have education in engineering, so they do not have built-in understanding of the theory. Lastly, this will lower the level in their rice bowls, and they may fear that.
Regards,
Dennis Denlinger

Hi Dennis,

Yes, you may have permission to reproduce my email to you. I was looking over it again and I neglected to mention that my left ankle and my right knee (which I didn't realize was related to the foot problem) are also healing! My right knee is still tender, but it's worlds better and not unstable anymore.

Even a chiropractor who I think a good deal of told me that surgery would be something to consider for my heel!

Something you may want to emphasize is that people need to stick with this even if it's a little uncomfortable at first. I experienced a little pain in both calves as if I was starting to get shin splints for a couple of days... that was a little scary. The last thing someone in pain wants is more pain, so they should be encouraged to persist in consciously standing and walking in this new way.

I'm so glad you're going to get the word out.

Good luck and I'm spreading the word on my end, too!

Zanna
